Connect & Prepare

Hey neighbours! Let’s Connect & Prepare together!

ByBuilding Resilient Neighbourhoods February 1, 2021April 25, 2024

Participate in Connect & Prepare and help build a culture of “neighbours helping neighbours” where you live! (Two info sessions available!)

About this Event

The pandemic is reminding us all of the value of social connections and supports. And indeed, during many kinds of emergencies, the first “First Responders” are usually our neighbours — the people next door who are right there to help. Building a stronger community of neighbours today can help us be better prepared for emergencies now and tomorrow.

And that’s what our free Connect & Prepare program is all about!

Join us at one of our upcoming online information sessions to learn more about strengthening shared emergency preparedness, social connections, and resilience in your apartment, condominium, or street or block. At these sessions, you will…

  • Meet the Connect & Prepare team from Building Resilient Neighbourhoods and Victoria Ready, the City of Victoria’s Emergency Management division
  • Learn about the Connect & Prepare approach and how you and your neighbours can come together to build collective resilience
  • Get ideas, tools and resources to help encourage your own neighbours In your apartment, condominium, or street or block.to become better prepared together
  • Get the details on our upcoming online, “pandemic-safe” version of  Connect & Prepare, and on how to apply with your neighbours (APPLICATIONS OPEN MARCH 2!) for the full program of four free workshops, micro-grants, shared emergency supplies, and support from expert consultants.
