Helen Boyd

Helen Boyd (she/her) is a seasoned planetary health nurse and climate-aware mental health therapist working across community systems in Canada and internationally. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master’s in Counselling.

She has supported communities affected by climate-driven extreme weather through Disaster Psychological Services in British Columbia, and co-led research on the psychological impacts of Hurricane Irma in Antigua and Barbuda.

She now works on the lands of the Lək̓ʷəŋən-speaking peoples in the James Bay neighbourhood, where she facilitates the Connect & Prepare program, supports climate-resilient neighbourhood hubs, and leads climate cafés.

Across all areas of her work, Helen is guided by a deep commitment to social justice, trauma-informed care, and the strengthening of community resilience in the face of climate change.
