Capital Region Connection in Action: A Regional Community-Building Initiative

Get involved to strengthen neighbourly connection, personal belonging, and community resilience across the Capital Region.

Loneliness is a quiet crisis, and the solution lives right next door.

Capital Region Connection in Action is a campaign running from May 18 through June 21, 2026. We’re inviting people across the region to take simple, everyday steps to connect with their neighbours and community members, and to celebrate and strengthen the social ties that make our communities healthier, safer, and more resilient.

We’re building toward a shared regional moment and we’d love for you to be part of it: Loneliness Awareness Week, June 15-21, a global movement to inspire conversations and actions on the growing issues of social isolation, disconnection, and loneliness. In the weeks leading up to it and throughout that week, individuals and organizations across the Capital Region will host events, run activities, and take action to bring people together in their neighbourhoods and communities.

Every act of connection counts, whether you attend an event, host a gathering, or simply reach out to someone nearby.
